Article: Suggested Wire Layouts
The following diagrams illustrate some of the more common wire patterns. Since the wire must make a continuous loop (begin and end at the transmitter) some layouts require a double loop. The wire should be at least 3 to 5 feet apart in a double loop layout. The small circles in the diagrams indicate where the wire is twisted together, canceling the signal. Generally, the wire should be buried 1 - 2 inches deep. A gas powered lawn edger makes an excellent tool for installing a containment system. The wire may also be stapled to any existing wood fences, and 'woven' through chain link fence if you prefer. Please call or email us if you have additional questions.
